Human error triggers deadly train collision near Andhra Pradesh

In a tragic incident on the Howrah-Chennai railway line in Andhra Pradesh, a passenger train en route from Visakhapatnam to Palasa came to an abrupt halt between Alamanda and Kantakapalle near Kothsavatsala due to a signal issue. This led to a devastating collision with the Vizag-Raigad passenger train, resulting in the derailment of three coaches.

The accident claimed the lives of thirteen individuals, while fifty others sustained injuries. This tragic event unfolded on a Sunday, marking yet another instance of a train collision in the region.

Railway authorities have attributed this catastrophic collision to human error, specifically the failure of the loco pilot to recognize the signal warning. The incident underscores the importance of stringent safety measures and vigilance on railway networks to avoid such disasters.
